Boohoo SS15 Preview

with Princess Anna-Anastasia!

I had the pleasure of getting acquainted with boohoo.com's SS15 collection, and the brilliant team behind it during their SS15 preview last week. With a photo-booth, amazing music, ice cream and champagne the atmosphere was bustling, vibrant and fun & did justice to the collection that surrounded it.

Split into separate themed categories, the collection was created to reflect SS15's  trends and the diverse, rapidly changing interests of the boohoo fan base.
What I personally loved was that is each of the varied collections with in the SS15 collection had me picturing a different summer adventure. From Coachella in 'Wild West' to glamourous Miami summer nights in 'Poolside' and NYC clubbing in 'Geo Clash' the collection had me pining for the good times of summer.

Art Class,
Brilliant stand out pieces for statement city show stopping. I fell in love with this coat, and I couldn't believe how reasonably priced it was at £30.00

Culture Clash:

The Clubbing Must Have. For your alter ego:  Think bright colours, ethnic prints and lots of embelishment.

Wild West: Perfect festival wear
Just look at that beautiful embroidered detailing!

Stand out Bold, monochrome and geometric pieces to make any outfit outstanding.

Poolside:
Floral prints with asian influence. Pyjama style silks and glittery sequined pieces, excellent for hot days in exotic places & glamourous late nights out in tropical climates.

Cotton lace top jumpsuit

Love these embroidered denim shorts!

Boohoo FIT

A new and bang on trend addition, the Boohoo Fit collection. I had the pleasure of meeting the innovative 20 something  designer, Sarah Cormak, who was the creative force behind this stunning 90s revival collection which includes all the hallmarks of that fresh era, with an updated noughties twist. The result? A unique street wear collection, which is as fashion forward as it is practical.

I love this blue snakeskin print on  this crop top shell suit.

Learn to Say No

For women particularly simply saying no is something that is laden with guilt. We are taught that feminine role is one that is traditionally accommodating, long suffering and gracious.

From the Virgin Mary to my nana, I have grown up watching & learning about women who were martyrs, putting themselves last, 'yes ladies'. And it has completely affected my life. I am the poster child of a yes woman. Not wanting to let friends down, it is not uncommon for me to drop everything to get on board with anyone who asks. Time has shown me that this is not an ok, sustainable way to live. So I have started to practice saying no- and you know what- it's so liberating.

I know it's so hard to say no. For the most part, it's a habit. It's a tough habit to break, but it's worth breaking.
You see your yes should be precious, not something you simply give away to be polite. When approached with a proposition or a favour, seriously evaluate the benefits and risks, and if you haven't got the time, effort or energy just say no!

How else can you possibly expect to be the boss of your own life if you ignore your better judgement to take up the tasks of others over your own priorities.

This is your life and you are your main priority. Some people will just ask and ask until you have nothing left. It does not make you a bad person to say no. It makes you a conscious person. It's totally ok, look at Rosa Parks- one No can change the world.

This week I challenge you to say no. There is probably a bunch of things you say yes to on a daily basis you don't even notice. At work, with friends- at expense of your priorities. I'm not saying go nuts and be completely obtuse, just be mindful of your yes to no ratio. It doesn't make you a bitch, by saying no you are saying yes to yourself- and isn't it time you did that?

Happy Sunday!

Loves & Finds : Zara Duffle Coat

Perusing the aisles of Zara as I am known to do I came across this gorgeous Duffel coat with over sized fur trimmed hood.  I fell in love and had to share.  There is nothing like the embrace of fur around your face, and the comfort & security an oversized hood brings. I am really impressed with the quality of faux fur these days, gone are the days of rough rat tailed trimmings, now faux fur presents it self as a real fashionistas alternative to animal fur.

AW Trends: All About: Glitter.

Glamour Dec 2014 Glitter Sequin Jacket by Ashish

My lovelies, I am feeling sparkly lately. Maybe it's the Christmas cheer, maybe it's just because I am fabulous, but something has me feeling like Tinkerbell sprinkled her fairy dust on me & I love it. What's even better? The fashion industry is feeling it too, as designers get on board with glamorous, no apologies glitter ensembles. My favourite? Ashish, who has wowed me with a glamorous take on the casual denim casuals. Always one for embellishment, this season no punches are spared with this full impact show stopping collection.

Now I know glitter may not be for all, but I think that everyone can enjoy adding a little sparkle to their day. So I have compiled a list of how to work the glitter trend for the not so brave, the brave and the bravest. First, the bravest.

The Bravest:

Shimmer sway into the day with this fabulous glitter collection by Ashish

You can either work full glitter, head to toe like the runway looks below or pick an item to work into your wardrobe and cool it down with a cotton tee & complimenting accessories.

2. For the Brave: Try glitter eyelids.
The great thing about glitter eye shadow's is you can scale it up or down depending on your resolve. Pick a colour that compliments your skin tone, I am particularly a fan of coral bronzes, and of course gold flatters most skin tones. This season is the season to sparkle, so go on, give it a go.
Close your eyes and reflect the sun. The best glitter eye shadows: Here

For the not so brave conservatives: Glitter Nail Polish.

I was thrilled out of my mind to see this new Essie Lux Effects Glitter nail polish. I'm off to get the gold one now. Glitter nails are a great way to work some optimistic shimmer into your day. The collection has 6 shades. So go nuts.

#TEDSS15PREVIEW Ted Baker SS15 : All is not what it seems | Pinch mecollection

Womenswear:

For SS15 Ted Baker offers to steal us away with a dreamy cocktail of floral prints, vibrant colours and shimmering sparkle. Channelling the glory & glamour of 40s resort luxury and the disco fury of the 70s, Ted Baker remixes classic flattering silhouettes with a combination of bold statement psychedelic prints, mesmerising glitter and trade-mark embellishments.

Old money opulence is the resounding theme, as the collection goes from a wedding in Oxford, to a pool party in Los Angeles. The collection is perfect for the international playboy and girl, with capsuled collections, which can be interlinked and styled for every occasion.

Piece by Piece

Think glamourous summer nights out: sequinned glitter bomber jackets and matching shorts from steely black to candy pink.

Think resort wear cool: with holographical floral skirts, statement printed dresses and tops

Think british tea party meets 40s Miami resort wear: This stunning print is continued through out the accessories, swim and even home collections

I love the long capes of the fall, and with the british summer there is no reason not to bring this stunning trend into the summer. Ted Baker presents luxurious short summer capes, from Ostrich feathers to jewelled collars.

Mens.

Think bold, printed shirts and dapper attention to details. Bold tiled prints make an appearance on shirts for a modern take on the classic Hawaiian shirt.

Accessories steal the show for me this SS15 with Ted Baker, with tropical printed satchels, shoes and leather goods.
