Party Shoes Wishlist

This season, as you prepare to go to the ball: Don't forget your magical slippers...

Tim Walker Shoots Kate Moss for Vogue.

Happy first of December my lovelies! It is officially party season. I have taken it upon myself to become your holiday fashionable fairy Godmother, after all if you are going to tear up the dance floor, make a move on that guy in the office and look fabulous, you going to need some help.

Today I have decided to write all about shoes.  The reason I have chosen to kick of my holiday fashion guide with shoes, (not that decision needs justifying -who doesn't love shoes) is because, like my mum says, "You can't go wrong with good shoes and good hair". Shoes are so important to making the outfit outstanding, and offer the opportunity to go nuts with glitter, print and colour.

Save or Splurge, get yourself some stunning shoes and get to strutting show stopping this season:

Loves & Finds : Zara Duffle Coat

Perusing the aisles of Zara as I am known to do I came across this gorgeous Duffel coat with over sized fur trimmed hood.  I fell in love and had to share.  There is nothing like the embrace of fur around your face, and the comfort & security an oversized hood brings. I am really impressed with the quality of faux fur these days, gone are the days of rough rat tailed trimmings, now faux fur presents it self as a real fashionistas alternative to animal fur.

AW Trends: All About: Glitter.

Glamour Dec 2014 Glitter Sequin Jacket by Ashish

My lovelies, I am feeling sparkly lately. Maybe it's the Christmas cheer, maybe it's just because I am fabulous, but something has me feeling like Tinkerbell sprinkled her fairy dust on me & I love it. What's even better? The fashion industry is feeling it too, as designers get on board with glamorous, no apologies glitter ensembles. My favourite? Ashish, who has wowed me with a glamorous take on the casual denim casuals. Always one for embellishment, this season no punches are spared with this full impact show stopping collection.

Now I know glitter may not be for all, but I think that everyone can enjoy adding a little sparkle to their day. So I have compiled a list of how to work the glitter trend for the not so brave, the brave and the bravest. First, the bravest.

The Bravest:

Shimmer sway into the day with this fabulous glitter collection by Ashish

You can either work full glitter, head to toe like the runway looks below or pick an item to work into your wardrobe and cool it down with a cotton tee & complimenting accessories.

2. For the Brave: Try glitter eyelids.
The great thing about glitter eye shadow's is you can scale it up or down depending on your resolve. Pick a colour that compliments your skin tone, I am particularly a fan of coral bronzes, and of course gold flatters most skin tones. This season is the season to sparkle, so go on, give it a go.
Close your eyes and reflect the sun. The best glitter eye shadows: Here

For the not so brave conservatives: Glitter Nail Polish.

I was thrilled out of my mind to see this new Essie Lux Effects Glitter nail polish. I'm off to get the gold one now. Glitter nails are a great way to work some optimistic shimmer into your day. The collection has 6 shades. So go nuts.

Retro Revival With MatchesFashion.com

This season fashion gets nostalgic and pays homage to the iconic looks over the decades with retrospective collections. Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent & Valentino lead the way with beautifully crafted retro looks that are so worth reviving.

The It List : Oversized Poncho Scarves, Mustard, Luca Michelle & Utter Couture

The scarf that launched a thousand shopping trips. I am sure you have seen it, thanks to Burberry poncho scarves are not just for grandma,  and I couldn't be more pleased. It's about time fashion got more warm, comfortable and well, practical. See Burberrys full range here

So how to wear them and not look like granny? Pair with a autumn coloured sweater: think black, mauve or bottle green, Skinny wet look jeans, high boots and a statement wide brimmed hat like Olivia's below.

Mustard

I called this like 3 weeks ago, but it is time to make it official. Mustard is in! And I could not be more happy, its my favourite autumn hue. The perfect way to brighten up the season and pop your colour.

How to wear it.

Like Lupita, Mustard works really well with a strong berry Autumn lipstick, it also plays nicely when framed with distressed leather (brown or black) and bottle green accessories .

Lupita pairs mustard with cool white, berry lips and bottle green for a A* look.

Olga Kurylenko in this Cos Mustard Dress. Get it here
Arizone Muse rocks mustard, accented with subtle greens and tans to the Bally opening

Mustard is great for those with cocoa skin tones (like Lupita), as well as those with red hair (like Olga)
Have a go and make it yours this season. See my favourite mustard pieces from this season below.
MISSGUIDED PLEATED MIDI SKIRT

CANDACE SCUBA MIDI SKIRT, MISSGUIDED

Luca Michele Kita Bag.

This gorgeous structured bag is the work of London based, Italian born designers Luca Michele and is available at Wolf & Badger. Inspired by 'Tokyo & Italian craftmanship' the bag benefits from a bang on trend east meets west design.

Utter Couture

I met the fantastic crew from Utter Couture on Thursday at the Serge DeNimes launch, and started talking to them because their unique personal style made them really stand out.  Once I learned that these stylish individuals ranan online  retail platform for new and emerging designers, I had to research more.
What I found at www.uttercouture.com was impressive, fresh, unique statement urban street wear at prices that I can get on board with. Below are my lust haves from their online store. It is always good to support emerging designers (like they do), and to support young brilliant enterprisers- (like you can do) Check them out for yourself at www.uttercouture.com
