Winter Survival Beauty Kit

Fall and winter are harrowing seasons for all things beautiful. The wind is hard on the skin, lips and nails whilst the cold and woollen coat collars are hard on you hair. If there is one thing living in Canada taught me, its that to survive the winter you have to be prepared. So here you have it my fall survival beauty kit.

In this weather, when your'e all wrapped up one smart way to stay gorgeous is to let your face do the talking. Whilst makeup is all well and good, your face and lips will require a little more TLC if you want to really kill it this winter and so it is important that you hydrate every aspect of you face.

I recommend:

Clinique Moisture Surge Skin Fortifying Hydrator
£35.00 Boots
I have begun to use this and so far I am pleased. It is great as a day cream and is perfect for just before your makeup, especially if you are prone to oily skin, as this cream does not leave oily buildup.

Primer: Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer
£29.00 Selfridges
There is nothing worse that your makeup caking on to your skin, whilst the Clinique cream aforementioned is absolutely going to help, the primer will ensure that your make up goes on flawless and stays flawless. Fortified with vitamins, this primer is the perfect accomplice for dewy glowing winter skin.

Lips: for chap-free lips it has to be Kiehl's lip balm, which is specifically formulated to counter the harsh effects of cold and wind.

Finishing touch: Sleek Pout Paint
Berry lips are fierce for fall, (paired with autumn copper tones and a radiant face) like my girls here. For a colour that stays, try this Sleek lip stain.

Nails:

My nails just love to chip in cold weather. You need to add moisture to those babies if you want to maintain winter worthy claws. Cue Dr Lewinn's Renunail Nail Strengthener (voted in Harpers Bazaar top beauty 100). For long, strong happy nails be sure to add this to your routine! Get this via Beauty Mart for £17.50.

Hair

All about inputting and locking in moisture. Oil enriched products are your friend here, depending on what hair type you have depends on what products I would recommend.

Fine Hair:

Garnier Ultimate Blends is great for those who have fine hair that can get bogged down by heavy products This moisturising duo is perfect-fortified with light Argon and Camilla oils, the shampoo is great for an amazing clean without that stripped feeling. Follow on with the conditioner for amazingly smooth shiny hair.

For thick hair:

I swear by this RedKen collection. Every drop of it. This collection got me through 3 Canadian winters, the must use is the shampoo and the enriching restoring butter deep conditioner. I know they are a little more expensive than traditional hair products, but for me, completely worth it.

Smooth Lock Butter Silk Deep Conditioner, £15.90, www.Allbeauty.com
