How to make sweaters sexy : 5 style secrets to steal from the runway

There is no denying that it is no longer t-shirt weather. Well I say that, but I have lived in Canada and trust me, there are some people who will rock shorts in 20 below (yes, thats literally minus 20)
However if you are in the smart majority gearing up for a sensibly dressed winter and would like to look reasonably sexy then take a look at these catwalk style inspirations.

Just Cavalli plays with pops of colour, a bold print and an a-symmetrical cut to keep things interesting. What I like most is that the sweater is figure flattering. Pair this with some leather pants and ankle boots for a confident - too hot to handle winter look.
Alexander Wang chooses a chunky knit and plays with texture to achieve this cool look. What makes it hot though is the knee high boots and choice of skirt instead of pants. I would suggest a black leather skirt, but this is a style that can be worked with.

Balenciaga- Ok so love the high waisted pants, and love love the crop jumper. A cropped jumper with high waist offers a great opportunity to remind the outside world that you have a waist, and not get lost in baggy jumpers. A great tip if you're a shortie like me. Just make sure you pair with high boots to give the illusion of killer long legs.
Paul Smith employs this seasons hottest colour: mustard. Nothing warms up a cold day like a pop of warm colour on a soft sweater. Love it.
Helmut Lang mixes fabrics and tones to achieve this gorgeous look. First, The nude colours with a nude makeup is great for a fresh and understated natural look. Secondly, pairing a baggy, fluffy sweater with a short leather skirt is a great way to achieve a chilled sexy look.

How to work a questionable Autumn trend- baggy Leather pants.

Emilio Pucci available at net-a-porter

Ok well yes they look pretty sweet on the model here but I have to say I am not 100% sold on the whole baggy pants thingy that I am seeing these days. I am used to tight leather sexy pants (of course), but I feel like this kind of trend comes with rules. So lets get in.

1. Keep it light and airy on top. You don't want to look heavy or sweaty.

2. Make sure you wear heels! No you cannot rock these with flats, pair with a nice strappy heel preferably one with a pop of colour (if the pants are black).

3. Do not double leather it. You don't want to look like Morpheous.

If you want to try the trend, you could get the exact same as the one above at net-a-porter, or for a more affordable solution, check out Zara's.

And on the plus side, no matter how you look, those leather pants will keep your legs nice and toasty this horrible winter.

Get the Look, Celebrity inspired Fall/ Autumn what to wear.

I know its hard, but as the north wind grips round my neck as I write this, I think it is time to admit that Summer is over. So pack away your flip flops & brace yourself for the Celebrity best dressed, get the look fall edition.

I love an A line skirt for that retro girl in the city breakfast at tiffany's feeling. It is just one of those staples a girl wont regret in her wardrobe. It can be teamed with a blouse for a look similar to Victoria Beckham here, or also goes well with a crop top.

Abigail Spencer wears my favourite colour of the season, mustard and pairs it expertly with a red lip.
Abigail's dress is from Michael Kors. I love Zaras cross over version with 3/4 length sleeves. The look can be dressed up with court shoes like Abigail, or dressed down for a chill laid back chic by wearing ankle boots like our lovely model here :)

Victoria Beckham puts together this effortlessly chic practical & warm street look.

Shoes: Dune
Jeans: Net-a-Porter
Sunglasses: Raybans
Jacket: Zara
Olivia Wilde laid back look

You can save or splurge to get this look.
Splurge: Jumpsuit Isabella Marant, £410 Net-a-porter,

Alexander McQueen AW 2014

Weave cornrows never looked so sexy. Alexander McQueen challenges the pretty status quo once again with a beauty look I am pretty sure wont  be taking off any time soon. If, however, by some miracle it does, millions of weave wearers every where will have a weight off their shoulders...  4 bundles of Brazilian body wave to be precise.... See the collection below.

My friend Ana forwarded a quote to me which I think sums up this collection:
