AW14 Lust Haves: The Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits, they are a season must have, as the icy north wind takes a preparatory deep breath, ain't no body got time for an exposed midriff. Jumpsuits provide the perfect opportunity to keep it all sealed in. And if you are really smart, you can even wear leggings underneath (if no one knows, no one cares). You can dress them up for work or down for drinks, you can wear it casual with denim, or lux with silk. They are truly a season lust have and a winter saviour. Without further babble, I present to you a few of my favourite jumpsuits from all price ranges this season.

This jumpsuit is perfect for curvy girls. The exposed shoulders is flattering, whilst the girls get a chance to steal the show with this beautiful neckline. Meanwhile the legs look elongated with this flattering wide leg. Pair with ultra high heels for maximum effect.

Go from the office to the Christmas Party in one fabulois swoop with this festive knock em dead jumpsuit from Missguided.

This scuba jumpsuit from Asos is form fitting, flattering and fantastic.
Pair with court shoes for a flattering end to the drain pipe cut.
With its plunging neckline, this look is great for a night out in the city.

An absolute 10 on all fronts here for this lace detail jumpsuit by Whistles.
Sleek? Check
Special details? Check
Arms covered for additional warmth? Check.

I am sold.

Simplistic chic, with this minimal jumpsuit by Alice and Olivia. I love the criss cross detail at the back. Pair with some simple silver jewellery and a belt, to bring it to all kinds of levels of fabulois.

Go for the tux effect with this Gucci satin trimmed tuxedo jump suit. Perfect for hosting a dinner party.

It's business time with this gorgeous long sleeved wrap around jumpsuit by the business power house that is Dian Von Furtenburg.

The It List : Pigeons & Peacocks, Glitter & Metalics, Donna Karan, FlyArt Productions & Jennifer Lawrence

Welcome my lovely's to another edition of The It List, a compilation of all the things I have seen this week that deserve a shout out.

1. Pigeons & Peacocks, issue 7

London College of Fashion's baby Pigeons and Peacocks magazine launched in 2008 and has been out doing itself ever since. A proud London College of Fashion alumni myself, this week I settled down to read the latest addition to the Pigeons and Peacocks archive. What I saw blew me away. Page after page of stunning editorials and thought provoking articles. I particularly liked the article The (Role) Model on Shaun Ross, an African American albino male model who was featured in Beyonce's Pretty hurts video & is also taking the fashion world by storm.  Undeniably stunning Shaun and other models like him such as Diandra Forresst are the new wave of models, thoughtfully challenging the beauty status quo. A great Article, a must read.

2. Glitter & Metallics

Not all that glitters is gold, no sometimes it is Givency. This season glittering metallics are all in, so pack your shades and get to shimmering. Glittery pieces are a great way to inject some excitement and glamour into your outfit. So reflect some light like the diamond you are and stand out.

Net-a-Porter have some beautiful glitter skirts by Alice + Olivia, Lela Rose & Malene Birger.

You can buy these designer skirts via Net-A-Porter
However, if your budget is a little more modest, Check out this great H&M version for £24.99

Play with texture, these spangled skirts would go beautifully with a simple polo neck,  cashmere sweater or simple linen T-shirt.

3. Donna Karan

I saw this and I just wanted it. End of story, wholly indulgent but none the less top of my wish list. A beautifully made, high drama piece by Donna Karan. It can be worn in a number of different ways and is certainly a head turner.

4. Fly Art Productions.

A brilliant Tumblr account which juxtaposes pop culture slogans over 16th Century Art. The result is just genius and unexpectedly thought provoking.

4. Jennifer Lawrence.

I just can't get enough. Not only was she in Vanity Fair this week, but she also looked classically beautiful this week at her premier.
