The BAFTA's!!!

Yes honey, I am loving the parade of awesome that was the BAFTA's last night. Headed by my all time favourite, Lupita Nyongo. Colour blocking like she was born to do in this stunning emerald Dior gown. Next for a mention has to be Naomi Harris with her daring plunge neck line and racy slit...some how she still manages to look classy despite baring some serious (bronzed and gorgeous) skin. Helen Mirren always shows up, and shows that there is noting better then a woman who knows what suits her, with years of experience and a portfolio of fabulous, Helen out shines many younger ladies. Next for a mention has to be Brangelina who turned up in matching suits. I told ya'll before ( seriously, check below) suits for women are in- so get your self suited and booted this winter for an understated smouldering sexy.

Oh and I added David Gandy because....he's David Gandy- Happy Monday,

At A Glance Best Dressed

This year has been particularly fashionable with Lupita Nyongo coming top of my list. The 12 years a slave star has quickly made her presence known on the red carpet fashion scene, and promises to be a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the battle of best dressed. This week she effortlessly wins my vote in this complimenting purple jump suit by Cushnie et Ochs. The colour and the fabric are so complimenting to her skin tone, making her shimmer and radiate from head to toe, of course that million dollar smile doesn't hurt either...

Next is Karlie Kloss in a white Dior Dress, now as for consistent fabulosity Karlie Kloss does it for me. Unlike some stars who get it so right and then soooo wrong, Karlie pretty much always gets it right. This crisp, simply and flatteringly cut white dress coupled withs sexy black stilettos is the kind of effort simplicity I love her for.

And Naomi embodies an Egyptian Queen in this stunning Michael Kors gown. Shimmer sway sparkle girl!

Oscars Glam : Best Dressed 2013

Well if you're anything like me, barricaded in by the relentless icy grip of winter, its nice to see someone, somewhere wearing something strapless. These Hollywood stars made me smile, vicariously enjoying their moment in the sun. I mean forget the dresses , I would swap with a homeless man in Hollywood right now. Any whoo these dresses were too beautiful to not share so here it is my Annual Oscars Best Dressed.

1.
 Giorgio Armani

Boom - that's one sexy Red Head!Jessica Chastain expertly avoids making her fair skin washed out with the wrong colours. This beautiful golden nude dress with art deco detail  crystal overlay is to die for, making her my favourite look of the day.
L A W // of life know your look & work it be you to the fullest.
Kristen Stewart in Reem Acra

This is bitter sweet for me because I don't love K-Stew -  she usually looks grungy, dirty and awkward but  this is none of these things. I love how she looks in this beautiful Reem Acra Couture dress. I love Reem Acra ( see earlier NYFW post) and Kristen  makes this gown look young and chic. So yeah, she's alright... it turns out a beautiful dress can change everything. Go Kristen.

Woohoo! My girl,  the beautiful Kerry Washington is all shades of happening in this Mui Mui gown. Elegantly understated, Kerry decides against jewellery and allows the bold neck embellishment to do the talking. She looks a million bucks.

Valentino knows how to dress a woman , and Jenifer Aniston looks beautiful in this bold red evening gown, with a luxuriously full skirt and sculpted waist.

Charlize Theron lets her face do the talking with her cropped haircut and simplistic Dior white gown, complimented subtly with Harry Winston Jewellery.

I may just like this because it's Jenifer Hudson and I am impressed with how great she looks for losing all that weight- I don't usually like front slits ( tacky) but I do like the fabric and shimmer of this midnight blue fitted dress. So yes I guess its not just Jen, I do love this Valentino gown.

George Clooney's plus one Stacy Keibler ensures all eyes are on her in this bold yet subtle, powerful yet elegant Naeem Khan metallic gown.

Amy Adams floats on a cloud in this dreamy Oscar De La Renta gown.

Guilty pleasure here as this gold may be criticised by some for being a bit tacky, but I just love how regal Catherine Zeta Jones looks in this Zuhair Murad gown.

Sandra Bullock looks as lovely as the night sky ( corny but whatever) in this Elie Saab beaded gown

CRIMES AT CANNES ; FREIDA PINTO REPEAT OFFENDER

For all the head start that the beautiful Freida Pinto was given she still managed to somehow get it so wrong time and time again. Less is more, and these outfits suffered from a meltdown.

1.To put it simply the first look is just confused. The half up and half down draping is just odd and unflattering, the split up the leg does nothing for the dress & just adds to our dismay & bewilderment.

2. We can see what she was thinking with the striped skirt an crop top, but the wideness of the skirt coupled with where the skirt ends on the leg just makes her look odd and ultimately unflattering.

3.This girl does love her slits and its evident in this glittery yellow a symmetrical mess. The trick with wearing a slit is toning down other factors- as to retain the elegance. Her failure to do so results in all the factors conspiring against her to equal one hot mess.

Our verdict- she is a beautiful girl, but she either needs to fire her stylist or get one as none of these looks live up to her potential!

We say this with love,

x

FASHION Misses at THE MET

So it was not all fierce and fashion at The Met, some stars missed the mark.

Here our first 3 Misses at The MET

1.  Anja Rubik in Anthony Vaccarello- Ok we get it you are leggy and your body is to die for, but this white cut out dress looks more like someone ran off with a portion of her clothing. The material as well doesn't help- reminds us of a communion table cloth. Sorry darling, I know they say less is more - but in this case we suggest a refund.

2. Milla Jovovich in Prada
Now we know Prada is known for pushing the box, and it mostly plays off, for us this reminds us of those awful christmas paper streamers. We will however give her points for thinking outside expectations.

3.  Alexa Chung in Marc Jacobs
Last but in no means less guilty is Alexa Chung, I know that people seem to think this woman can do no wrong but in our eyes this is a miss that just couldn't be brushed over. Is this a night time look? It looks more like confused school girl to us. And those shoes? Come on girl! We know you can do better for British then that!
